Become a Volunteer

Want to get involved? But you don’t have a lot of time?
The BCO has many opportunities for you to get involved that require minimal time commitments.

Help promote the orchestra to community, corporate and social groups

  • Distribute flyers in your community. Consider your library, music stores, university, senior living community, art galleries, museums, cafes, and any place else music lovers might be found.
  • Spread the word through personal contacts with music teachers, doctors and
other professionals, and at networking events and social gatherings.

Enjoy a concert with groups of 10 or more from your employer, church, or professional association and enjoy a 20% – 30% discount. Nonprofit groups can resell tickets at full value and earn money for their organization.

Assist with social and fundraising events. The BCO offers a number of intimate social and fundraising events each year for audiences and donors to mingle with members of the orchestra. Help us with the planning or at the event itself.

Serve as an usher or box office volunteer at a concert. The ushers who help you find your seats in Faneuil Hall are all volunteers, and they get to listen to the concert for FREE. Friday evenings you’ll need to arrive at Faneuil Hall by 6 pm; Sundays, plan to arrive at 1 pm. Normal business dress is fine.

Promote us with the business community. Help us identify corporate sponsors or sell program ads.

Serve on a Committee. Join one of our standing board committees and provide your help and ideas on an ongoing basis.

As you can see, the BCO offers many and varied opportunities to become involved at a level of commitment that fits your busy lifestyle. And helping us at any level really makes a difference. If you would like to learn more or to volunteer, please contact Quindara Dodge at (617) 423-3883
